2. What are the costs for Convention?
Please visit the planning page of this website for a detailed account of all costs for Convention 2017.

3. Is there a payment plan option?
Yes. Visit the planning page for options and deadlines.

4. I'm inactive, but plan to be active by the time of Convention. Should I check off "active" or "inactive" on the registration form?
If you're currently inactive but have definite plans to be active for Spring 2017, you can mark yourself as "active". However, you need to have paid your dues by June to the National Treasurer. Please send documentation confirming the payment of dues to tnx.convention2017@gmail.com. If we don't receive this confirmation by July 1st, you will be charged the $25 service fee.

5. How long is Convention this year?
Convention begins on Friday, August 4 and runs until Sunday, August 6, 2017.

6. What is the Convention Service Project?
This year for the Service Project we will be volunteering (and donating) to the Ronald McDonald House. We will have a limited number of slots available (20 total) for sisters to sign up to volunteer on 8/4 from 12 to 2pm. For those who wish to contribute, we will also be collecting donations (monetary contributions from sisters or chapters, or items will both be accepted). Please click here to see the wish list with items we will be accepting. You can also check the programming page for this information.

7. How do I get to the hotel from the airport? And which airport is closest?
Check out the "Chapel Hill" tab here for transportation information, and to familiarize yourself with the hotel.

8. What if I need a room the Thursday before Convention?
Be sure to select "yes" on this question when completing the registration form. The Convention Committee will contact you with further details. An additional night stay will be an additional $45 per person for quad occupancy room, or $40 per person for 5 person occupancy. For the cost of other lodging options (single bed, single room) visit the planning page.

9. Who is required to attend Convention?
Each chapter is required to send 1 Delegate to Convention. Chapter Presidents and Treasurers are not required, but are strongly encouraged to attend.

10. I'm a delegate and I'm confused about my duties and responsibilities. And what if I'm from an Affiliate Chapter or a Colony? And I need to know more about Robert's Rules of Order!
Please check out this page we've created specifically to answer all questions delegates might have (including a link to a fantastic external Robert's Rules of Order cheat sheet that's super useful to keep handy!)!

11. What is the dress code for Convention?
Business Casual attire is required for all Convention "business" programming (general session, legislation, workshops). As in years' past, the Butterfly Banquet dress code is semi-formal. The Convention Service Project may require special attire. Visit the programming page for specifics. Off-site activities do not require a specific attire, however, please be mindful that you are a representation of Theta Nu Xi as a convention attendee.

12. In past years, an official convention T-shirt was offered, will there be one this year?
As in years' past, an official Convention 2017 t-shirt, is being offered. Be sure to indicate your preference for a short-sleeved or long-sleeved shirt on your registration form and include the cost of your selection in your payment. You can see details about the 20th Anniversary T-Shirt here or from the planning page.

13. Can I bring a guest/my significant other to the Awards Banquet? And what's the deal with the after party?
Yes! Check off the option for "additional banquet ticket" in the registration form. Guest tickets are $50. Following the Awards Banquet, we will be having a Party Like It's 1997 After-Party this year! The after party is open to all. Cost: while the after party is free to sisters registered for convention/banquet, if you're a sister or guest who's not registered for convention or the Awards Banquet, admission will be a $5 donation to Girl Up.
